The Purchasing Division is responsible for obtaining quotes for services, preparing formal bids and getting the proper authorization from the City Manager or Council to enter into a contract.
The Purchasing function within the Administrative Services Department is also responsible for verifying that the insurance within the contract have been satisfied, issuing the purchase order, and ordering goods and supplies.
Public employment is a public trust. Public employees must discharge their duties impartially to assume fair, competitive access to government procurement by responsible contractors. Moreover, they shall conduct themselves in such a manner as to foster public confidence in the integrity of the City procurement process.
